"This is Spinal Tap" is on AMC tonight ... I just love love love this movie ... my first year away at college there was a group of 6 of us that were addicted to this movie ... all of us knew every word in the movie ... we laughed before the jokes were said because we knew what was coming up ... no one would watch it with us ... over Christmas break we promised each other that none of us would watch it ... and the day we got back we sat and had a Spinal Tap viewing party ... and laughed even harder after having a break ... I wish I could sit with the 5 of them tonight and watch ... :)
wow I have used the next blog button at least 100 times ... and I thought it was weird that I saw the same ones quite often ... and never saw my own ... just now I clicked on it and saw some site ... then clicked again and as the page was loading I thought ... wow that is like mine ... and realized ... it was mine ...

sadly that is the most exciting thing that has happened today ... :)
in Pretty In Pink ... the scene where Duckie sings in the record store is so awesome ...
YEA for Molly Ringwald and fantastic 80's movies like Pretty In Pink ... it was so exciting and fantastic to see when I was 16 years old ... but now it makes hanging out and doing nothing on a Saturday afternoon ... a little more fun ...

Neil Fenton ... I was just on the phone with my friend Mike ... he and I went to elementary school together ... he is driving from Vegas to LA for a wedding and gave me a call so we could catch up ... so he is talking about his neighbor Neil that I had such a crush on in school and did I know he was a big time model now ... that I was on to something back in 5th grade ... and 6th and 7th ... he was making fun of me ... so I looked him up on the internet and I couldn't believe it ... what a trip ... I was known for digging dorks ... I guess the boys I liked just blossomed late ... :)

Life with men is like a deck of cards......

You need a Heart to love them;

A Diamond to marry them;

A Club to beat them;

And a Spade to bury the bodies.

i think it might be time for a redesign ... even i am tired of looking at my site and i don't do it all that often ... :)
so David and I are sitting here quite bored today ... I went and checked the "blog hop" thingy and just as many people hate my blog as love it ... that just doesn't sit well with me ... not sure why ... this could be why I have never had that kind of stuff on my site ... I was really opposed to comments for a long time because I have kept an online journal for 4 years now and I figured this is a place for me to write ... who gives a shit what people think ... but then I started using the comments on other blogs to correspond with people so I thought I would add them to mine ... but the rating game ... fuck it ... I don't need that ... so away it goes ...
Matchbox 50 year anniversary ... 50 cars for 50 states
finally we have power again ... it started raining at 3AM on Wednesday morning and rained till about 6AM Thursday ... last night we lost power at about 11:30 PM and it didn't come back on till almost 3AM ... unfortunately when it came back on the cable was still out so we had our computers again but no internet and no TV to watch ... we had tried to go to sleep at about 12:30 but we just couldn't fall asleep so when we heard the generator kick off and the power come back on we were up for a while ...

so now ... we have power and cable and it feels like winter outside ... it is so cool out and overcast ... and everything is drenched ...

and I am dying for a coffee ... hummm it is a decision to go back to sleep or get a coffee ... :)

i went to the very lamest interview yesterday ... the pay they were offering isn't even enough to pay a months rent ... the market sucks so badly they can rip people off ... who knows what david and i are going to do ... both of us want to work so badly but we were taken such advantage of at our old job that we don't want to walk into that situation again ...

today it has been raining for about 17 hours straight ... amazing ... it hasn't let up one bit ... i can't even imagine where all the rain is stored up ...

Sunday, August 25, 2002

here is a big fat pisser ... tonight I started working on locating the people from my 8th grade class for our 20 year reunion ... and I found a couple ... takes a long time to read through the websites and send emails and stuff but I did a bunch tonight ...

right before I was going to call it quits I decided to see if I could find this guy Christopher that really screwed over my family at one point ... he and I remained close friends for 15 or so years ... he lived with my family on a couple of different occasions when he was either kicked out of his house ... or down on his luck ... the 3rd and last time he lived with us was cause he was down on his luck and wanted to try and save money so he could go to college ... he lived with us rent and board free for a little over a year and the day he decided he was leaving he up and left ... just left the key at the front door [we were all home] and just left ... no thank you no nothing ... my parents were pissed and hurt ... it was just WRONG ...

I saw him one other time when I was visiting a friend in New York a couple of years later ... he showed up at her apartment ... I was drunk and he was horrible ... we were fighting and yelling ... I told him what a shit he was ... he wouldn't leave ... I had to call the police to get him out of the house ...

so anyway before I was calling it quits tonight I put his name into Google ... it is unbelievable ... I live 3000 miles from where I grew up with him and he lives 15 miles from me right now ... 15 fucking miles ... what are the chances of that ... David was working a block over from where he lives ... it is tooooooo small of a world ...

it gives me the creeps ...
woohoo!!!!! Sex and the City time ... gotta love Sunday!!!!!

Sittin' in a junkyard
Waitin' to be ground up is a pile of cars
Lookin' for an old car,
Found a funny Schlepcar
Let's make him ours

Found a magic horn
A new car was born
The toughest of the toughest, super car
Wonderbug

Faster than fast, smarter than smart, Wonderbug
When you hear the horn, help is on the way
So clap your hands, hip hip hooray!
For the Wonderbug, the wonderful Wonderbug!

While in China Town one day we came across the filming of my favorite Kroft Superstar show Wonderbug.

Jason and I got to have our picture taken with both Schlepcar and Wonderbug ... we also got to stand in the crowd scene shot that day ... it was so damn exciting ... I still totally remember it and this was 1977 ... check the link below ... it is quite funny what has happened to the actors since being on this children's show ... :)

Great Wonderbug site ... worth checking out

ya know it is so great being 32 to the world and fucking 12 to my mom ... it is like being able to lead 2 lives at the same time ... I spent from 10 till 5 working on my dad's website ... and from 6 till 10:30 working on my mom's slides ... all I wanted to do was get out of the house for a little while ... and get some coffee at Starbucks ... and as we are walking out to leave my mom tells me we shouldn't go ... [underlying message I will be bitchy and pissed if you do go so I am subliminally saying you can't go] ... that we waste too much money on Starbucks and it is late ...

am I not old enough to make these decisions for myself ... I mean David and I don't party ... we don't drink ... we don't do drugs ... we eat out once a week [which is cut back to our old 6 times a week] ... we don't go shopping ... we share a car ... all we wanted to do was get some fucking coffee and my mom says no ... it is such bullshit ...

when we moved in here she said she was worried I would resent her ... well I resent her making me feel like I am 12 and that I can't make my own decisions and do what I want to do if I am not hurting myself or anyone else ... I just wanted to get out of the house ... away from this fucking box and get some fresh air ... wind in my face ... but like when I was 12 my mom is deciding what is best for me ... they leave on Friday for a week ... wooohooooooooo

This image is worth opening and reading all the text ... notice at the bottom it says marthastewart.con ... that is the best ... .con

MarthaStewart (2).jpg (132215 bytes)

I just got an email from my friend Mike ... he was writing asking for my phone number so we could catch up ... the email of mine he was replying to when writing me was from June 24, 2001 ... in the email I still liked my job ... was living in New York ... and 9-11 hadn't even happened yet ... it is like I look at the world now B.T. and A.T. [before tragedy and after tragedy] ...

Mike and I went to elementary school together ... so I have known him since 1979 ... crazy huh ... I went to a private elementary school and we were all really close ... I threw a 5 and a 10 year 8th grade reunion ... we always had them at my parents house and everyone came ... I didn't have a 15 cause my parents had already moved to Maryland from Cali and I was living in Vegas ... but I have been thinking about having a 20 year 8th grade reunion ... it would be in 2004 and it would be a great excuse to plan a trip to Cali ... so I guess I just need to work on getting everyone's address ... and start contacting people ... hummmmmm that sounds like a great new project ...

Thursday, August 22, 2002

finally updated my desktop tonight ... I took a card that has a quote on it I love and added some pink and voila ... I felt it was inspirational for my job search ... :)
Help Annie It is really just flat out begging now ... so many of these sites are popping up ... I mean lets face it ... we have all had our fair share of money grief [except maybe my brother] ... I own $44,987 on my student loan ... I have shelled out my fair share of money to boyfriends who never paid me back ... [my boyfriend in college loved my credit card and seemed quite sad when I couldn't pay it and they took it away] ... I fucking live with my parents and have no job even though I estimate I have applied to over 450 in the last 11 months ... we have sold so much of our stuff on ebay since living here ... but I don't think my lack of funds or financial misfortune or the shitty lot in life I am currently occupying is anyone else's responsibility but my own ... I blame my old boss for being a fuck-head and sacrificing profits for new office furniture and ripping off customers so they left our company ... but in the end my life is my responsibility ... if I were offering something to people in return for their donations that would be one thing ... when I ran a cam site I never charged people to come to the site but over the years that it ran there were some very nice people out there that sent me presents ... a couple of checks ... that were used to pay for my bandwidth ... but it wasn't wasn't I asked for ...

I just think these sites are out of hand ... ya know if you wanna make money on the internet ... show your tits ... do graphics work for people ... promote their sites for them ... show your ass ... write erotica ... run a porn site [hell I worked in that industry for 4 years there is money to be made] ... but asking for money for nothing ...

I think that is bad karma ...
David and I were just talking about a conversation we had with my mom and I thought it happened this morning and he thought it happened yesterday morning ... as I thought about it I realized he was right ... it was yesterday morning ...

David looked at me and said ... when the days run into each other you need to get a job ...
I just can't take the "no job" thing anymore ... and I don't think David can either ... it is making us nuts ... something has got to change ... and soon!!!!

I really wish someone would have told me how HORRIBLE the movie The Sweetest Thing was before I paid money to rent it ... and then wasted time watching it ... I sat there thinking ... "these people got paid for this?" ... and I love everyone in it ... especially Jason Bateman and Parker Posie ... even though they weren't in it that much ... I am so sorry I saw it ... but I guess if I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have known how terrible it was ... :)
I found this on the Fucked Company website about the company I used to work for ... see Fucked Company was hosted by Hostcentric ... so they kept bad shit off the boards about them [totally not fair but when you are getting some free bandwidth it is cost effective to sensor] ... but now they have moved to a new host ... and all sorts of juicy stuff is popping up ...

in response to previous post on Hostcentric:

If you knew how they treated their employees you might seriously consider this.

For example: casual Friday's cost ya a buck. Yep if you work at Hostcentric and want to dress casual on Friday ya gotta pay a buck. And the parking lot is a mile away (the call center being in a former warehouse does not have many parking spots) in a dirt lot. Of course you can pay to actually park at work, that is if you don't want to spend 30-40 minutes a day unpaid going to and from your car.

There is more...

I guess I should clarify that the call center (techs, billing, sales, etc) is not in Fremont California where the actual server is, but in Florida

Of course Hostcentrics low wages, taking advantage of the current market, etc. have allowed them to maintain profitability. They do tend to run a tight (cheap) operation not spending any more than necessary on equipment or anything else.

Signed, a former (one of many) Hostcentric employee.

The poem I wrote today for the Stealing Harvard site ... check it out ... pretty cool

essay.jpg (119493 bytes)

i can't believe my search for a new desktop has been so hard ...
woohoo ... I got carded for cigs today ... 32 years old and she needed to see my ID ... woohoo
OK so I am a bit disenchanted right now ... and I think I have reason to be ...

I applied for a job last week from hotjobs.com ... not usually a good place cause sooooooooooooo many people apply from there ... and you never hear anything back ... but this time I did ... it was for a job at vipdesk.com ... and what I got back was a short essay ... it took me 3.5 hours to fill out but I did and emailed it back the same day ... but heard nothing from them for several days ... so two days ago I emailed again verifying they received my email and attachment because I was very interested in the job and it combined everything I love to do ... and that I had been thinking about it since I had received their letter ... below is a copy of what I had to fill out ... I really think it should be sent to people you are seriously considering interviewing ... and I think something should have been emailed back to me ... even if it said thank you for your interest but we don't want you ... tell me I am crazy for being upset about hearing nothing after reading all I had to fill out ...

We have a $45 store credit for Bed Bath & Beyond and I am trying to find something we need for our new home ... and I am digging this dinnerwear
oh how is it that I can't find a new desktop image that I like ... it has never been this hard for me ... usually I find something and change it ... or I think of something I like, collect images and make my own ... hummmmm

i wrote a whole long post but fuck it ...

david and i got in a fight this morning ...

didn't talk again till 10 tonight ...

but everything is better :)
my parents have security cameras around their house and you can turn on the TV to see what's going on ... just now my mom called me and said ... "quick turn on the security camera ... I think there is a dead animal on our front porch" ... as I was turning on the TV I said ... "well if it is dead then I don't need to be too quick" ...

sure enough there was an animal sprawled out on the front porch ... and one of the stones it was laying on looked darker than the others ... like it was blood [the cameras are in black and while] ... we stayed on the phone watching the camera when I saw the animal move ... and as soon as it moved I recognized it to be a cat that hangs out in the area ... drives Kramer crazy when he comes to the backyard ... he hung out there for a while ... cleaning himself and enjoying the shade of the front porch ... my mom was ready to call animal control but I told her it is the only fun Kramer has ... getting excited at the window when the cat walks by ... :)

i still haven't found a new desktop image that i like ... and i am tired of the one that is currently there ...
I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bored ... the idea of scanning one more slide makes my head hurt ... we have NO money to speak of ... David doesn't want to do anything ... I am not in the mood to sit and cut little pieces of paper for one of my art projects ... the house is already pretty clean ... doing laundry isn't a cure for boredom ... there are no movies on cable that I want to watch ... I am not hungry ... I already gave myself a pedicure ... I need to get away from my damn computer because I am lacking the motivation to work on any site ... ACK!!!!!!!!!!!

my life couldn't be more stagnant if I tried ...
I am in disbelief ... I just watched the movie Pay It Forward ... and I loved every moment of the movie but the end ... I wasn't ready for an afternoon of crying and that is what I got ... I knew the idea of the movie which I loved ... years ago someone told me that if I ever make eye contact with someone I should smile ... because a smile is contagious ... and when I smile at someone they will usually smile and someone else will see their smile and so on and so on and so on ... so the movie Pay It Forward has the same idea on a much bigger level ... but the ending was just HORRIBLE ... if I had known I would have shut it off before that ...

so to get myself in a happier mood I have turned on Chicken Run ... this movie always makes me feel good ... :)
