I hear the President of the United States and news casters constantly say "we need to get back to normal ... to remember those that were lost ... but to become stronger and not show fear ... to not change our lives because of what happened"
why then were the emmys changed so much and then cancelled ...
are television personalities that fucking important? I didn't see terrorists bombing television studiors or waiting for the emmys to attack ... they attacked buildings filled with hard working individuals ... buildings that represented strength and freedom ...
i know people in the US look up to celebrities ... like they are different than everyone else ... beyond human ... revered as almost godlike ... so they set an example to many people ... the fact that so many wouldn't fly to california for the emmys is terrible ... what does that say to everyone? ... it sends a terrible message ...
I am just disappointed in the way this was handled ... probably cause i am a big TV freak ... i really enjoy watching TV ... people try and tell me that is a bad thing ... but i enjoy it ... it makes me feel good ... i laugh ... i relax and enjoy myself ... i am also quite well read and i have traveled the world ... i find nothing wrong with watching TV and ya know what ... i am not a huge awards show fan ... but i love the emmys ... it is always shows i have seen unlike the Oscars where I may have seen one or two of the movies up for awards ... i just have fun watching the Emmys and i thought it would be a brief evening where something other than the terror would be on TV ...
i just find the events a poor example of how the US should be handling things ... :(
