Hard Disk Full

In working on the previous post I couldn't upload the photos to the server ... I got a message that said the disk was full ... 80 GB full ... now this isn't a new problem ... for the last couple of months it has been telling me it was dangerously close to being full ...

Now D and I do 99.9% of the tech support for our server ... really the only time we let the tech support do anything on our server is when they actually screw something up and we let them move files on to restore the server ...

But in the past someone has hacked into our server and was uploading movies to it ... D and I did lots of stuff to rectify that problem ... but this time we just couldn't find anything and the logs didn't show anyone else on the server ... I've asked D several times to take a look because I have spent hours and hours trying to figure out what was going on ... when I added it up we were only using about 30 GB ...

So needless to say when it said disk full tonight I was steamed ... and he was sitting right here so there was no escaping my wrath ... he relented and signed on to check it out ...

Hours went by and still nothing ... then suddenly a smirk spread across his face ... I got so excited ... I could tell he figured it out ... he stopped me as I started to tell him how awesome he was ...

It turns out ages ago he was working on a script ... apparently it ran producing folder and folder until it took up 51 GB ... and he had no idea ...

Now I am so happy he found it ... removed it ... and freed up our server space ... but it only proves why I hate our tech support ... 4 people that I know of have looked at the server and couldn't figure out what was wrong ... pretty sure no one did anything besides look at it ... no checking anything ...

At least I didn't go off on them ... which was my next step cause the last email said, "hummm we don't know what is going on but something doesn't look right" ... yea good answer tech support ... if I had given that answer to a customer when I worked tech support there would have been problems ...

The Mayor of Tiny Town

So Curly Top and I went grocery shopping this morning and had a blast ... she was sooooooo excited there was a car available for her to ride in ... I was a little sad cause we don't get to talk but her excitement made up for it ... she even let me take photos

And she 100% was the mayor of tiny town (what we call her all the time at home) ... she sat in that car like the Pope in his Pope-mobile ... she waved out the window to everyone we passed ... said "hi" constantly ... and captured everyone's attention except for the hung-over 20-somethings in the store ... but otherwise young and old all stopped to talk to her ... she LOVED every minute of it ...

That is up until the frozen food aisle ... those are the last two aisles in the store and that is usually when she has had enough ... ready to leave and couldn't care less about paying ... that is when she decided to become a big kid ... walk the aisles ... visit the lobsters where she pressed her face up to the glass and yelled "hello lobsters" ... she cracked up this old man so hard with that I am sure he was happy he was wearing Depends ...

As soon as I was finished paying she began her good-bye parade ... waving out the window again saying, "bye bye ... see soon" ... and got louder when people didn't say it back ...

I sure do have fun when she is with me ... it may slow the process ... but it enhances it so much ...

Every Spare Moment

Yesterday I spent every spare moment working on my redesign for my Cafepress store ... it is a slow and log process ... I almost finished one section ... just a couple more designs to add to that section ... then I will only have 3 sections left ...

In between that we just played and spent most of the time near the bathroom working on the whole potty training thing ... it was really draining me yesterday ... we did the wear nothing ... I had to go up to the bathroom myself and asked D to keep an eye on her ... 2.5 hours we had been working wearing nothing ... and in the 6ish minutes I was gone she had a pull-up on ... and pitched a fit going back to nothing ... I was really pissed at first but just let it go ... he wants her to use the potty but apparently isn't as committed to the process ...

So this morning she and I have been working on a grocery list while she eats raisins out of a barrel of monkey's container ... I hate that I leave all domestic stuff till Sunday ... I still haven't put away the clothes from last weekend nor washed any from this week ... so that means when we get home we are off to my parents house because we told them we would clean all our stuff out of their basement ... then back here to do laundry and put away 2 weeks worth ... I should have worked on some of this yesterday but I wasn't about to have a kid with no diaper on sitting on my bed ...

Cafepress Design

So I have been saying for-ev-er that I wanted to redesign my cafepress store ... it just kinda came about originally from just adding stuff ... but now I get lots of hits to it and I want it to be like a real store ... I am going to have everything in sections for women/men/kids/stuff ... so tonight I finally made the graphics (while watching Beverly Hills Cop) for it ...

so here they are ...

91 Packages

Well I pretty much spent the day getting together stuff to UPS ... 91 packages in total ... I told our guy yesterday that there would be a lot ... he isn't like Newman our mailman who seriously gets upset when we have outgoing mail ... today I had 7 boxes for him and he asked if I just wanted to drop them off on my way home ... I told him "no thanks but I don't mind if you drop them off on your way home" ...

So now I am just hanging out waiting for Mr. UPS to sweep all this away and make my office look a bit nicer again ... and I am looking forward to taking a shower once I get home ... it was dumb to wear a white shirt when I knew this is what I would be doing ... so I just feel grimy ...

I want to start my weekend off on a good note ... even though I will most likely spend the whole weekend trying to motivate myself to get stuff together for the garage sale ...

Yet Another Month

Well it is yet another month that I am not pregnant ... and although I already knew ... I could tell ... it is still very discouraging ... every month I am not pregnant is a month closer to being 40 when I have my next kid ... which I DO NOT want to happen ... I had enough to deal and worry about last time I was preggers ...

I know that expanding the family is more important than my job ... but it would be terribly hard if my due date and maternity leave come around the holidays ... it is really the only time I would be missed from work ... there are 100's of trip rewards I take care of ... and sign-ups for the new year ... being gone in November, December, January or February would just make life miserable for all of 2009 work-wise ... basically if I don't want that to happen I have 3 more months to make this happen ...

Regardless my doctor told me if I am not pregnant by October or November it is time to start seeing specialists ... for both D and I ... another thing that can only put more pressure on me ... and it could mean getting pregnant during that window I was trying to avoid ...

It was so easy for us before ... maybe we just waited too long ... maybe we should have started trying when Curly Top was only a year rather than right before she was 2 ...

I am sure all the regular stress and pressure aren't helping me ... and the stress and pressure to get pregnant don't make it any easier either ... how can it be so different in what seems like just 3 short years ...

Bath Time Conversation

Last night during bath time Curly Top and I had the most wonderful conversation ... I wish I had recorded it ... she is just so kindhearted it makes me melt ...

While bathing she made sure to bathe and wash the hair of all animals in the tub ... the ducks and cows and frogs and even Ernie in his boat ...

When it was time to brush her teeth she brushed everyones teeth ... even her Elmo wash cloth got a tooth brushing ...

And then everyone got kisses ... including me ... it was all just so sweet to me ...

I said, "Is your world all hugs and kisses?"
She said, "Yesss mommy, yes!!"
I said, "Are you filled with love?"
She said, "Oh yesssss. Yes, yes, yes"
Then I started asking her who she loved.
"Do you love
- Daddy
- Mommy
- Grandmommy
- Granddaddy
- Grandpa
- Uncle Jason
- Aunt Jenny
- Ellie
- Baby Abbie
- Elmo
- Big Bird
- Ernie
- Caillou
- Kipper
- Your babies
- Fred

To each one it was a sweet, loud whispering, lisping ... yeesssssssss

Then I said, "Well who do you love most of all?"

She looked at me ... moved her arm in an arch toward the sky ... looked up ... and said, "Skye" ...

The tears welled up faster than I could control them ... yesterday afternoon was the first time she started to use her nickname ... and each time she did it she did the whole looking to the sky and moving her arm in the arch ...

But to answer the question of who you love the most ... and responding herself ... I don't know if we have had a more touching moment ... ever ...

I mostly wished I had that moment on video so I could always remind her that from the beginning she has loved herself ... and how important that is ... and that it will help shape her into the person she is destined to become ...
