Every Spare Moment

Yesterday I spent every spare moment working on my redesign for my Cafepress store ... it is a slow and log process ... I almost finished one section ... just a couple more designs to add to that section ... then I will only have 3 sections left ...

In between that we just played and spent most of the time near the bathroom working on the whole potty training thing ... it was really draining me yesterday ... we did the wear nothing ... I had to go up to the bathroom myself and asked D to keep an eye on her ... 2.5 hours we had been working wearing nothing ... and in the 6ish minutes I was gone she had a pull-up on ... and pitched a fit going back to nothing ... I was really pissed at first but just let it go ... he wants her to use the potty but apparently isn't as committed to the process ...

So this morning she and I have been working on a grocery list while she eats raisins out of a barrel of monkey's container ... I hate that I leave all domestic stuff till Sunday ... I still haven't put away the clothes from last weekend nor washed any from this week ... so that means when we get home we are off to my parents house because we told them we would clean all our stuff out of their basement ... then back here to do laundry and put away 2 weeks worth ... I should have worked on some of this yesterday but I wasn't about to have a kid with no diaper on sitting on my bed ...

Cafepress Design

So I have been saying for-ev-er that I wanted to redesign my cafepress store ... it just kinda came about originally from just adding stuff ... but now I get lots of hits to it and I want it to be like a real store ... I am going to have everything in sections for women/men/kids/stuff ... so tonight I finally made the graphics (while watching Beverly Hills Cop) for it ...

so here they are ...

M&M Mini's Containers

So my friend Shelly has a post up about what to do with all of her M&M Mini's containers ... and I have the same dilemma ... I have a ton of them and they are great little containers and I don't want to throw them away ... I was hoping to come up with a project to use them all but that hasn't happened ... but I have thought of several different cute things I could do with them ... since I can no longer use them to hold pills in my purse cause Curly Top knows M&M's come in them and she does love playing in my purse ...

1. They are the perfect size to hold several crayons in my purse without breaking them so we always have something to color with
2. They hold several baby wipes to keep them in my purse when I don't have the diaper bag with me and they stay wet so they are perfect for quick clean-ups
3. Cutely decorated they could make a perfect Tooth Holder for the Tooth Fairy
4. They hold my headphones and headphone splitter quite well
5. Needles for my needle work - closes tightly and keeps them all in one place
6. I have one in my suitcase and purse now with some spare buttons, needles and string and safety pins and my eyeglass repair kit cause I always seem to need one of those items when I don't have them
7. I don't need quarters for the laundry mat anymore but it does hold an entire roll
8. I've also found it holds lots of valuable stuff that on a necklace could come in handy - so that might be my project ... it does fit my all time favorite lip balm, Lypsil, perfectly ... there could be a time I want to wear it around my neck ... I doubt it but you never know!!

Granted I am still looking for a fun project for them ... but nothing is coming to me ... and my purse looks like I am a candy junky ... which might not be entirely false but I don't carry that much around with me ...

Crown Making 101

Today was a fabulous Saturday ... Curly Top and I decided she needed a crown ... it needed to be shiny and it needed to have flowers ... luckily being a crafty mama I had all the supplies we needed ...

So we cut out a crown from some card stock ... and then Curly Top used glitter glue to decorate the whole crown ... she loved painting it all over ... and kept asking for more colors and swirling the glitter all over the place ...

The time it took for it to dry was a bit hard ... for both of us ... but we spent our time taking some self portraits which was more fun for me than her ... but fun none the less ...

She couldn't stop jumping around while I put the flowers ... and fitting it around her head so I knew what size to make it had her squealing with absolute delight ... everything about making the crown today melted my heart ... I didn't want a single moment to end ...

Once it was finished she was beyond excited to put it on ... she kept oohhhing and aaahhhhhing about it ... spinning around ... and even smiled for the camera a couple of times ... rare for her ...

And when her granddaddy stopped by she raced to the door to show off her new crown ...

She kept it on the rest of the evening ... we had to leave it sitting on the counter during bath time ... after a quick little "no in tub" argument ... as soon as the hair was combed it was right back on ... and it had to be left up on the bookcase in her room so she could fall asleep looking at it ...

what a fabulous way to spend a Saturday afternoon ... FABULOUS!!!!

How Cute Is This?

So my boss has a Cricut die cut machine ... a friend of mine asked if I could make invites for her daughters birthday party ... she is having a tutu party but not traditional ballerina ... more of a rocker-tutu girl ... so I used the die cut machine to cut out a paper doll ballerina ... then I scanned all the individual parts and colorized them myself ... and put the doll together to print on the invites ... they just came out sooooooooo cute ...

Working Outside

today was kind of a wasted day ... I mean it was good and bad ... it was so beautiful out ... like 60 degrees or at least it was sunny enough to feel like that ... but I woke up mad at David so it kinda sucked from the start ... we had stuff to do today and he wound up staying up all night setting his xbox up on the internet that he went to sleep as I was getting up ... it was 11 AM and I yelled "now you are going to sleep till 6 and not want to do anything" ... I left the house and got coffee and a pack of smokes ...


the smokes were ok ... David was in a foul mood last night and got a pack and I had a couple ... when I woke up he had smoked all but one ... so that is why I went ahead a got a pack today ... so I came home and thought since it was so nice outside I should work on a project outside while I had the chance ...


about a year ago I got one of those big black metal wall units from an office ... I guess it is something where you could keep forms for easy access or have brochures displayed for people ... whatever it is I have it up against the wall as a magazine rack ... and it is really the best magazine rack I have ever had ... but it has always looked kinda dingy and really like I got it from an office ... so today I took it outside and spray painted it silver ... and it is so kickass now ... I mean it just looks so fucking cool ... like I bought it in some trendy boutique where it would be incredibly overpriced ... instead I grabbed it from my old work before they chucked it into the dumpster ... I just keep staring at it cause I am so happy with how it came out ...

Drawers

I took a regular drawer set from IKEA like this one here ... and painted the whole thing silver ... then I taped off the front of each drawer and painted it with chalk board spray paint so I can use chalk to make labels for the drawer contents ... And here is what the finished product looks like ...
