The Con Artist

So as Curly Top had her bath and was all ready for bed ... we'd read books ... done goodnight kisses ... and she was in bed ... D went to put the gate in her doorway when she got up and said, "pee pee potty" ... so we went right to the bathroom ... pulled everything down ... got up on the potty ... and she sat there for quite sometime ... read her magazine ... sang a song ... chatted with mommy and daddy ...

but no pee ...

she sooooo knew that if she told us she had to potty she could stay up a little longer ... first evening in Pull-Ups and working on the potty and she cons us into 15 more minutes before bedtime ...

Backwards Potty Trainer

So I know Curly Top has learned lots of things the weird way .. but potty training ... the last 3 morning she has woken up dry ... but still doesn't want to use the potty ... D puts her on the potty first thing and she gets pissed and won't pee ... as soon as he puts a diaper on she'll go pee ...

She loves watching the video about learning to potty train that we got from Pull-Ups ... but still doesn't want to use the toilet or her potty chairs ...

so tonight when I got home from work we put on a pair of training underwear ... and watched that Pull-Ups video again ... she got up off the couch and I should have put her right on the potty chair but I didn't ... by the time she got across the room she started to pee ... but when she felt it and saw it on the floor she stopped ... I put her on the potty chair right away and she was soooooooo upset ... she just wouldn't go ... said she was finished ...

We put on a new pair of training underwear (not Pull-Ups ... the really thick cotton ones) ... she took 2 steps and started to pee again ... so we went right upstairs to the bathroom ... and sat on the toilet and was very upset about it ... but I sat on the floor and talked to her about peeing ... to just go ahead ... push it out ... it was OK ...

Then I figured out the magic words ... I told her if she went pee pee in the potty she could have cake (a spoon of ice cream) ... her face lit up and she pushed and went pee in the potty ... and just loved all my cheering and applauding ... (although I scared the pee out of D downstairs) ...

So we packed up all the diapers left in her room and got out the Pull-Ups ... she helped me put them all away ... but has so far not cared that she is wearing cool alert Pull-Ups ... just keeps peeing in them ... and doesn't want to go back on the potty ... so we'll see ...

How Cute Is This?

So my boss has a Cricut die cut machine ... a friend of mine asked if I could make invites for her daughters birthday party ... she is having a tutu party but not traditional ballerina ... more of a rocker-tutu girl ... so I used the die cut machine to cut out a paper doll ballerina ... then I scanned all the individual parts and colorized them myself ... and put the doll together to print on the invites ... they just came out sooooooooo cute ...

Thanksgiving 1991

Kris and I have been friends since we were 14 years old and started working at The Record PX together ... after my first year at University of Kansas she drove out with me for my sophomore year and loved it so came the next semester ... we became pros at getting bumped off flights at Christmas and Summer so we could get the free ticket (back then they still did that) and go somewhere for Thanksgiving and Spring Break ...

The photos below are from a trip we took to Boston and NY ... we went and stayed with my brother at his dorm in Boston ... then took the train to NY and spent Thanksgiving with my grandmother Lucy ... it was an awesome trip ... we had a great time ...

These goofy photos are from us jumping around dancing in my brother's dorm room ... ahhhh to be 21 again ...

 

Graceland 2000

When I moved from Las Vegas to New York, via Maryland my brother flew out to Missouri to drive from there to MD with me ... we made a bit of a detour so we could finally visit Graceland ... we could have spent a couple days there as opposed to a couple of hours ... the place is freaking great and we had a blast ... and we saw everything ... the planes ... the cars ... the house ... the works ... here are a couple of photos from that trip that I love ...

(PS - it was on this trip that I played the greatest trick on my brother ... at one point while I was driving he was asleep in the passenger seat ... there was a tow truck towing a semi in front of us ... so it looked like the truck was coming right at us ... I screamed and slammed my arm across his chest and he woke up and screamed - freaked out - ready to jump out of the car till he realized I was laughing my ass off and what all was going on ... I am sooooooooooo sorry I couldn't video tape it!!)

 

So Maybe Not

Well the idea to post a whole bunch of the old funny pictures I had found was a good idea ... but it didn't happen ... at least not last night ... I wound up spending the evening emailing with an old friend and reading blogs ... it was very nice ...

But now it is time for work ... again ... :)

I'm always up in plenty of time to be on time ... but lately I leave late every day ... I need to work on that ...

Working on my Blog

So when I uploaded all my posts from my old blog lots of the links for photos aren't working ... so slowly but surely I have been working on moving all my photos from all different sites to one domain and updating the links for the photos ... so everything will be easy to manage and back in one place ...

while doing that I came across so many great photos ... that I have to post some of them ... so that is my fun project tonight while watching Wipe Out and Big Brother!!
